During the month of March (March 4 thru April 1), August Strindberg Repertory Theatre will stage two Scandinavian plays in repertory: Journey in Light and Shadow by Danish novelist and playwright Stig Dalager, and Marty’s Shadow by acclaimed Swedish writer Stig Dagerman.
Journey in Light and Shadow (adapted by Natalie Menna from the translation by Robert Greer) is a “Twilight Zone-like experience” and a world premiere of a new work by Denmark’s leading playwright.
Dagerman’s play, a thriller set in post-World War Two Paris, has been produced in seven languages but never before in English.
